Hand and Upper Limb Imaging

Sydney Health Executive Education – awarded by the Faculty of Medicine and Health.

Designed specifically for health professionals, this course is a collaboration between the Australian Hand Therapy Association and the University of Sydney, Faculty of Medicine and Health.

This course represents 50 hours of continuing professional development, covering the areas of X-ray, CT, MRI and Ultrasound of the upper limb.

 

The learning outcomes assessed in the course are:

  1. Understand and describe the strengths and limitations of different imaging modalities in the assessment of hand pathology, trauma and healing.

  2. Identify different types of tissue and upper limb structures in the coronal, sagittal, and transverse planes.

  3. Assess pathology, trauma and healing in the upper limb imaging studies.

  4. Use knowledge of imaging and imaging reports to inform diagnosis and treatment.

  5. Discuss imaging with patients and other health professionals.

 

This is not a higher education award and not a qualification recognised under the Australian Qualifications Framework.
